What to bring to Practice
We want your athlete’s first practice (and every practice after) to be the highlight of their week. To ensure they are safe, comfortable, and ready to work, please use this checklist as you head out the door.
The Essentials
Wrestling Shoes: These provide the necessary ankle support and traction for the mat. Note: Please do not wear your wrestling shoes outside. Change into them once you arrive at the club to help us keep our mats clean and sanitary.
Headgear (Ear Guards): Safety is our priority. Headgear protects athletes from ear injuries and is required for all live wrestling and tournaments.
Athletic Wear: A clean t-shirt and athletic shorts (with no zippers, buttons, or pockets if possible) are perfect. As your athlete progresses, they may want to invest in a "compression" shirt or singlet.
Large Water Bottle: Wrestling is hard work! Please send a dedicated water bottle with your child’s name clearly marked on it.
Hygiene & Safety
Short Fingernails: For the safety of everyone on the mat, please ensure your athlete’s nails are trimmed short before practice.
Skin Health: If your athlete has any unusual skin irritation or rashes, please let a coach know before they step on the mat. We maintain a strict cleaning protocol to keep everyone healthy.
Hair: Long hair should be tied back with a soft hair tie (no metal or hard plastic clips).
